Apparently, there is to be season sets of Dragonball. Personally, I'm excited - Dragonball is my favorite of the trilogy. Existing speculation and more information can be found here. Apparently, TriMark has discontinued the Edited DVDs of "The Saga of Goku" - conveniently around the time wal*mart put up this page. Eerie timing convinces me that it's really happened. For those of you that don't know, FUNi started out attempting to dub the first dragonball way back in '95. Instead of going to Saban like they did with Z, they went to a subsidiary of TriMark - KidMark. They gave them distribution rights indefinitely to those first 13 episodes they dubbed, before giving up and moving onto Z in hopes of better ratings. So, they have been legally unable to release episodes 1-13, preventing them from doing season sets - however, they did release the rest of the series at one point using their in-house studio.

It's coming soon though; either later this year or sometime next year. Until then, we can't see Dragon Ball box sets... has FUNimation made an unedited version of the first thirteen episodes. Irregardless, I will be getting this so I can watch it all in Japanese. Then start my Dragon Ball Z box set collection..... Err, wait.. switch that...

I doubt the date is right, but I think something is coming. Plus, there's no way the fact that the original set was just now discontinued can be ignored. So don't lose ALL hope.

This could be a shot from a specific opening, but given FUNi's laziness they probably used the same footage for every single opening (they did this for dragonball z's ending credits - the incorrect VA for ChiChi was listed every episode that had Zenkai Power!). Trailer here!. HOOORAAAAAY!!!!
